'Alive Again' !

Several told me I’d have a long and difficult road ahead of me when I got divorced and that my life would never be as good as it was. The ‘picture’ of ‘doom and gloom’ that was painted (yes even from scripture) seemed overwhelming. But like Job, through all the circumstances I never stopped praying, reading God’s word, or believing that God would answer my heartfelt prayers. The days turned into weeks and into months and into years. The answer I kept getting from God was that a job and a relationship would go hand in hand. Dozens of dates with some nice woman that lead nowhere. Hundreds of resumes with a few interviews and no job. All of that changed on January 27, 2011 when I met Valerie. Fifteen days later we became husband and wife. God out did what I was asking for x 1,000,000! Perfect in every way for me from our perfect God. And four months latter a job was literally laid in my lap which I was not looking for that has turned out to be the best job I have ever had with the best manager and co-workers I have ever been with. And yes life does have its ups and downs but every day with Valerie does get better.

The key I have found out to a successful marriage is really quite simple – “Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” Ephesians 5:252 NIV. The only way this can be done is to rely on Christ’s strength on a daily basis and seek his throne in humble prayer. So, like Job, God has restored and blessed me like never before. I can’t thank God enough for what he has done in my life. I am truly ‘Alive Again’!

‘Alive Again’ by Matt Maher

Verse 1

I woke up in darkness
surrounded by silence
oh where, where have I gone?

I woke to reality
losing its grip on me
oh where, where have I gone?

Cause I can see the light
before I see the sunrise

Chorus

You called and you shouted
broke through my deafness
now I’m breathing in
and breathing out
I’m alive again!

You shattered my darkness
washed away my blindness
now I’m breathing in
and breathing out
I’m alive again!

Verse 2
Late have I loved you
you waited for me,
I searched for you…
what took me so long?

I was looking outside
as if love would ever want to hide
I’m finding I was wrong

Cause I can feel the wind
before it hits my skin

Bridge
Cause I want you!
Yes, I want you,
I need you
And I’ll do what ever I have to
Just to get through
cause I love you
Yeah, I love you!

New Year's Prayer For Everyone

“When you were born, God said “yes.” Yes to all you are and to all that you can be by His grace, His mercy, and His love. He loved you at that very moment without condition or reservation.
There is nothing you can do to earn that love, and nothing you fail to do will lessen that love. The coming year is a new opportunity for you to discover more of the height, the breadth, the length, and the depth of that incredible love”

From ‘Courageous’ Daily Devotional December 29

"Take Down"

While coming home after running a errand tonight (and in a great mood) Val and I were having some great back and forth banter when I told her "I can take you down with one kiss ♥"......which she loved !

"Alive Again"

I first heard the words to this song as I left church this past Saturday and God laid them on my heart to share with my friends.

Jesus completed the process he began of turning my life around on January 27, 2011 @ 7:08 PM when I first laid eyes on Valerie Geis now Valerie Horosz

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

I pry that God's word from Jeremiah and the lyrics from this song will give you the encouragement that you need to "press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:14

"Didn't He Shine"

With the blessing of my new job also comes the blessing of a 30 mile commute every day. Most people would dread a long commute - which it is. I use that time to not only get ready for my day but to get ready for my end of the day. It is truly my time with Jesus in the morning to lift up my prayers to Him and thank Him for His innumerable blessings, His ever abundant grace, and His limitless love. In the evening I unwind usually by putting some music on and enjoying the spectacular view of Tampa as I drive across the Howard Franklin Bridge.

But this week God has laid some particular music on my heart - that from Dallas Holm. To me he is the reason I listen to Christian music today. The two songs that come to mind are "Against The Wind" in the morning on the way to work and "Didn't He Shine" in the afternoon on the way home. These songs help me to focus on Jesus and his immense love for me. I'm including the YouTube links to the songs along with the lyrics to "Didn't He Shine" ("Against The Wind" has the lyrics in the video).

Worship is a never ending circle - we receive life and love from God and give Him back our lives and love when we worship. And I thoroughly enjoy doing that with my beautiful blessing from God my Val <3

"Didn't He Shine" by Dallas Holm
"To a world of fear and darkness
Came a light as bright as day
With a song of love and words of kindness
He came to show the way

Though His face was not recorded
Nor the color of His skin
But His words rolled upon the darkness
And touched the hearts of men

Then the people called Him Jesus
He was a man of all time
Just a simple man called Jesus
But didn't He love, didn't He shine?

Let the light come brightly shinin'
Let it shine for you and me
That it was for all fear and sorrow
And then it set us free

Then the people called Him Jesus
He was a man of all time
Just a simple man called Jesus
But didn't He love, didn't He shine?

Then the people called Him Jesus
He was a man of all time
Just a simple man called Jesus
But didn't He love, didn't He shine?"
