Senior Pastor Rich Nathan's message was entitled "What is the Greatest Threat Facing America Today?". He stated that the greatest threat is not from North Korea or the Swine Flu or imaginary threats dreamt up by the media but philosophies or "false world views". He had a quote from an author who stated "Ideas have consequences and bad ideas have lethal consequences" Wow.
The scripture reference for this is Colossians 2: 4, 8
4 I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments.
8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers[a] of this world, rather than from Christ.
The way to do this Rich stated is to have "A deepening acquaintance with a person named Jesus" and to say 'yes' to Jesus in more and more areas of you life.
