The Road Home

198 days or 6 months 17 days. That is the day we signed the contract with our builder until the day we closed on our house. But this was a road that took much longer than 198 days.

Not too long after I married my beautiful Valerie and moved to Tampa, God provided me with a job. I worked diligently to pay off bills which helped me re-establish credit after my job loss. We had inquired about building a new house with a builder and found out that due to a deed in lieu on my house in Ohio that it could take up to two years to be able to be approved for a mortgage. Our hearts sank.

We followed the advice of a lender to take additional steps to repair my credit. And slowly but surely it worked. To make a long story short God’s timing could not have been more perfect. The phase we actually ended up building in with a gorgeous view of a lake in the back of our property wasn’t ready then. But last summer 2013 it was ready. On August 31, 2013 we were ready and signed the contract to build.

Unfortunately mom never got to live in the back bedroom as we had planned on. It was about 3 hours after we signed the contract that she got to go to place much better than a new house – she was in the presence of Jesus and was re-united with my dear father.

With deep gratitude to our Lord Jesus, Valerie and I “Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow’.

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost !

Amen !
